Levine Law Group Elite Women’s Cycling and CCB Racing to Join Forces for 2022

The Levine Law Group Elite Women’s Cycling Team (LLG Cycling) and CCB Racing will join forces and merge beginning in 2022 to form a new domestic elite women’s team. In keeping with LLG Cycling’s roots in national level criterium racing, the new team will continue to focus on road cycling in the U.S. while adding a multi-discipline approach to foster well-rounded athletes. In combining, the new team seeks to align the mission driven components of each program while focusing on support for U25 athletes in their journey within the sport as well as in higher education through athletics.

“Each year we’ve worked tirelessly to grow each of our programs to provide more opportunities for the athletes. By merging our two teams we are able to increase support for women racing in the U.S.,” said Sports Director Lauren LeClaire. “There are simply not enough opportunities for women to find a place to grow and develop that lands somewhere in between starting out with their local club team as a beginner and racing in Europe. There’s not enough middle ground. We need additional pathways for women to follow to chase their dreams in this sport. The opportunity to merge with CCB was a no-brainer. We had several overlapping partners, including Cannondale and our pink and blue kit colors. Merging enabled us to provide more resources and better support going forward.”

Honoring CCB’s legacy in New England, the team has added an expanded development roster that will be anchored in New England with the goal of providing a pathway for junior and young women into the elite ranks. CCB’s long-running men’s U23 team will return to its club-based roots as a regional powerhouse development program, operating in parallel with the women’s development team. With the loss of many established races and teams in the New England region, there is currently no pathway forward for younger riders in the region. It is clear this shift in focus will be good for both the men’s and women’s development programs as well as the New England cycling community.

Bolstering the 2022 program will be Sportful, who will provide all on the bike clothing. Sportful’s passion for cycling and long standing commitment to design and performance makes for a perfect fit to take on the U.S. criterium scene. “LLG-CCB’s mission of creating new pathways and providing development opportunities for women in cycling is a project we are stoked to support,” said Greg Keeling, Sportful USA’s Brand Director. “The team’s values match perfectly with our vision of cycling and we can’t wait to collaborate with them on new designs to make sure they look amazing in the pack and on the podium.”

A returning sponsor of both programs, Cannondale will provide the bikes for riders to train and compete on across multiple disciplines. With the encouragement and stalwart support of the Connecticut based bicycle manufacturer, combining the two programs was a natural fit for all involved given the social and sporting values of each program and of Cannondale.

The program will continue with CCB partners BikeReg and Friends & Family Dental.

Additionally, the team welcomes returning partner to both programs, Lazer, as the official helmet sponsor of the program, as well as Shimano, Built by Jerry wheels, Schwalbe, PowerBar, Finish Line, ESI Grips, and HotShot.
